Financial abuse is a way abusers keep victims of domestic violence within their control. This can look like:

Controlling your bank account and keeping you on an allowance
Hurting your credit
Keeping your name off financial records
Stopping you from going to your job or causing you to be late
Interrupting your work by calling you or visiting you at your job, causing issues with your employer
Preventing you from taking a job, so you don’t have a regular paycheck
Limiting access to your phone, computer, or other items needed to work

At Hubbard House, we understand what you’re going through and we’re here to help.

We will help you find a job, or if you’re already employed, we’ll coach you on how to seek a wage that meets your needs. Our trained advocates will help you with your resume, job searching, interview prep, credit repair, and more.
