Training + Education
An important part of the mission of Hubbard House is educating the public about the dynamics of domestic violence, its impact on victims, and the critical importance of intervention and prevention in transforming lives. The goal is to reach out to victims, increase community support to eliminate domestic violence in our community, and increase awareness of and access to services to help end the cycle of violence which can otherwise repeat for many generations.
Hubbard House volunteers and employees staff booths at workplace and community events such as health fairs, community safety events and information fairs to help promote awareness of domestic violence and available resources.
Also, each year Hubbard House staff and volunteers speak to many different segments of the public. Community education and professional training is provided to civic and community groups, faith-based organizations, schools, technical colleges, universities, social service providers, health care providers, government and business employees, law enforcement and the justice system.
Community awareness is the key to creating the social change necessary to end the violence, so whether you are wanting a brief overview of the issue and details on how your group can support the cause or you are looking for a more in-depth lunch and learn for your business, or even licensure caliber training for your medical staff, we can customize a presentation to meet your needs.
