ADT DONATES $50,000 TO HUBBARD HOUSE

Security Services, Inc. showed their commitment to Hubbard House and to ending domestic violence by donating $50,000 to help fund the organization’s life-saving programs. The surprise was unveiled at the 14th Annual ADT Hubbard House Golf Classic by Bobby Dale, ADT Vice President of Sales and Marketing, when he presented the checks to Ellen Siler, Hubbard House Chief Executive Officer.

ADT has been a consistent and tremendous supporter of Hubbard House, the certified, comprehensive domestic violence center that serves victims and their children in Duval and Baker counties. ADT has sponsored the annual golf classic for 11 years and has also been helping provide security services at the current facility for 11 years. ADT took this as an opportunity to show how much they believe in Hubbard House and its programs.

“We are very pleased and excited about supporting the Hubbard House in even a larger way. This donation is just an example of the commitment we have to both the community of Jacksonville and the victims of domestic violence,” said Joe Colon, ADT Director of National Accounts for the South East Region.

Bobby Dale and Joe Colon presented the two $25,000 checks to support programs that provide assistance to thousands of domestic violence victims every year. The first check supported the golf classic, an annual fundraiser for the programs provided by Hubbard House such as emergency shelter, therapeutic daycare, adult and children’s outreach programs, court advocacy and batterers’ intervention services. This year’s golf classic, held April 6 and 7, raised more than $110,000 through sponsorships and a live and silent auction.

The second check was allocated to help a program of Hubbard House’s choosing. With this donation the program chosen to receive the funding will have the opportunity to develop and grow, helping it to reach even more individuals who may need the support provided by Hubbard House.

“I hope this encourages other corporate leaders to participate and support these individuals in need and at the same time raise awareness for domestic violence,” said Colon.

Locally, thousands of women, men and children are affected by domestic violence. In its last fiscal year Hubbard House provided services to more than 5,300 victims. More than 26,000 counseling hours were also provided through both Hubbard House’s shelter and outreach services. It is through the support of the community that Hubbard House is able to continue to aid the victims of domestic violence.

If you or someone you know is in an abusive relationship please call the Hubbard House hotline at (904) 354-3114 or 1 (800) 500-1119.
